Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account information: your email address and the sign-in method you chose (email and password, Google, or LinkedIn).
• Your transcript and the details you enter with it: the transcript PDF, your name, the email address you want us to use, your university, your graduation year, and whether the transcript is official or unofficial.
• Payment: payments are processed by Stripe. We receive a payment reference and confirmation; we never see or store your card number.
• Coupon use: if you redeem a campus coupon code, we record which code was used.
• Site analytics: we record page views (page, referrer, campaign parameters, approximate country and city, browser type) under a per-visit random identifier. We also use the TikTok Pixel to measure the results of our advertising. Neither records the contents of your transcript or report.
• Messages you send us: contact-form messages, appeal and upgrade requests, and email you send to our addresses.

2. How we use it

We use your transcript and the details you provide for one purpose: producing your REALdegrees report. Your account information is used to sign you in, to send you transactional email about your submission (confirmation, report ready, password reset), and to answer your requests. Analytics are used in aggregate to understand how the site is used and how our outreach performs. We do not sell personal information.

3. Who sees your transcript

Your transcript is read by the REALdegrees analysis team, with software assistance, in order to produce your report. It is never shown to employers, to your university, or to anyone else. Your report is private by default: nobody sees it unless you choose to share it.

4. What an employer sees

Employers see only what you give them. If an employer wants to confirm that a report you shared is genuine, they email their copy to verify@realdegrees.ai, and we reply with whether it matches the report we issued and the date we issued it. We do not disclose the contents of your report or transcript to them, and we do not provide report look-ups to third parties.

5. Service providers

We store data with Supabase (database and file storage), host the site on Vercel, process payments with Stripe, and send email through Resend. Each processes data only to provide its service to us. Sign-in through Google or LinkedIn is governed by their privacy policies for the sign-in step itself.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your transcript and report for as long as your account is active, so that employer verification keeps working for reports you have shared, or until you ask us to delete them. Transcripts uploaded without a completed submission are deleted periodically. Analytics records are kept in aggregate form.

7. Deleting your data

Email admin@realdegrees.ai from your account email address and we will delete your transcript, your report, and your account within 30 days and confirm when it is done. After deletion, employer verification of a report you previously shared will no longer be possible.

8. FERPA

REALdegrees is not your university and is not an educational agency. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act governs the records your school keeps, not a copy you choose to send us. Your voluntary submission to us is governed by this policy.

9. Security

Transcripts and reports are stored in private, access-controlled storage and are encrypted in transit and at rest by our storage provider. Access is limited to the analysis team, and administrative access is logged. In the event of a breach we will notify affected users in accordance with Texas law.

10. Changes and contact

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the effective date. Questions about your data go to admin@realdegrees.ai or our contact form. Our Terms of Service describe the service itself.
